What makes Emily's massage therapy stand out from the rest?

Emily, a Reiki Master, has a wide variety of techniques at her fingertips that range in pressure from very deep to gentle, to none at all, (such as in Reiki, Craniosacral therapy, a few different forms of acupressure). She also may use Applied or Clinical Kinesiology, as well as Energy Kinesiology where applicable and helpful. What is most unique about Emily's work is her ability to clear the amygdala in the brain, (and other areas including the vagus nerve) in order to resolve the psycho-emotional aspect of traumatic injury that perpetuates muscular tension. This facilitates a more rapid resolution of otherwise longer term healing. Additional bodywork techniques in her repertoire include deep tissue, orthopedic and medical massage, sports massage, prenatal massage, Swedish massage, Jin Shin Jyutsu, 5 Element acupressure, hot stone massage, trigger point, spinal reflex analysis, muscle reactivity, myofascial, and Neural Organization Technique.

Emily is well versed on reflexes and may address them to facilitate a drastic improvement in posture and pain relief. She uses both movement and direct stimulation of certain areas on the body in order to turn on reflexes and reset neural structures called proprioceptors found in muscles and joints, that, due to past injuries, are confulsed about the body's actual position in space. As a result, they send conflcting information to the brain about our body's position, and the brain sends conflicting messages back to the musculature on how to correct posture. The resulting battle between muscles causes muscular tension and pain. Emily resets the reflexes, proprioceptors, and brain areas involved, (including the vestibular and visual systems) so that the brain can then send more accurate information to muscles, drastically improving postural alignment, muscular tension and pain.

Emily's ability to work with the brain and nervous system goes beyond working with posture and relieving psycho-emotional stress from trauma to additional arenas, such as in learning, memory, and focus. Her ability to work directly with the nervous system through Energy Kinesiolgy and acupressure to improve body alignment, state of mind, learning abilities, and more is what most sets her apart among body workers.
